What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

The battery only lasts as long as the warranty.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Tesla – charging network and their software.

Home charging unit

Ohme (non-tethered) – looks neat and is only 7p kW/h with OVO Energy.

Electricity supplier & tariff

OVO Anytime – works for me, always fully charged in the morning at 7 pence per kW/h.

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Insurer

Royal Sun Alliance – they will not be doing electric car insurance when I come to renew so I will shop around. I’ve been with them for years but their price has increased on our cars, e.g. Tesla £800.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Tesla Model 3

  • Saving on road tax £550/yr
  • fuel about £70 month
  • insurance is £30/month more expensive
  • servicing £500 plus /year saving.
