Colin drives a FIAT 500 Electric Cabriolet 42kWh 2022.

This is Colin’s second electric car, he’s owned the FIAT 500 Electric 1-2 years and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 150 miles from a full charge.

 

Why did you choose the FIAT 500 Electric?

Only electric convertible available and bought as a second town car. Tesla Model 3 for the commute and inter city travel.

  • Cute
  • comfortable
  • good space in front
  • nippy about town.

 

 

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Apple CarPlay very unreliable
  • range down to less than 100 miles in cold weather
  • mapping of accelerator and auto hold very crude
  • makes three point turns a jerky nightmare
  • efficiency atrocious at motorway speeds.
  • communication with level 2 chargers extremely iffy.

 

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Still as new.

 

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Charging port may need some attention but otherwise nothing has gone wrong.

 

What are the standout technological features of the car?

None

Nothing really but love it with the roof down in summer.

 

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

There is nothing funny about EV myths. They are pathetic.
