Volkswagen ID.3 2020 electric car owner review

Volkswagen ID.3 2020 electric car owner review

Dave drives a Volkswagen ID.3 58kWh 2020.

This is Dave’s first electric car, he’s owned the ID.3 from new and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 165 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Volkswagen ID.3?

Saw a review on YouTube, had a test drive and fell in love…

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

None, this is my ‘forever car’.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

Octopus Go tariff. Force charges my house battery at 5kWh from 00:30 to 04:30 at 7.14 pence a kWh (never takes four hours). Daytime rate 37.94 pence a kWh but I use hardly any of that. The house battery will only provide 5kW so occasionally running e.g. a kettle and an oven might peak at more than 5kW.

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

LV= just fine

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Volkswagen ID.3

No road tax, energy cost very reasonable, servicing easy, no oil, clutch, gears, motor…
