Why did you choose the Hyundai IONIQ 5?

The industry I work in and I loved the shape and the drive of this vehicle.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

I love the way you can open the boot or the charging flap just by voice control but you do have to use the word “trunk”.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

It is too soon to say.

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

I have a Project EV – it’s an untethered model. The positive things are that I didn’t need a separate earth rod for it and I purchased an 8-metre Type 2 charging cable. The negatives are that it’s an untethered model and the app is useless.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

I’m on Octopus Go which means I have cheap electric for 4 hours at 7.5p.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Pod Point – as I charge when I’m shopping. I find that ICE cars still park in the charging bays.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

A-Plan – they’re not cheapest but their customer service is 2nd to none.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running an electric car

The running cost for petrol & road tax.
