Ian Carter drives a Volkswagen e-Golf 35kWh 2019.
This is Ian’s first electric car, he’s owned the e-Golf under 1 year and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-30,000 miles and he achieves 110 miles from a full charge.
Why did you choose the Volkswagen e-Golf?

Have purchased an I-PACE for the extended range and also seriously considered a Polestar 2.
Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements
Zappi 2 unit as have solar panels and storage battery. Unit allows timed charging for cheap rate electricity as well as charging when excess solar available from roof panels.
Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements
Octopus Go – has 4 hours of low cost charging overnight
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
New Gridserve sites (not old sites that have not been upgraded yet) and InstaVolt sites.

General Accident – no problems with insurance and reasonable quote when changing cars.

Excluding the cost of the car, I am currently saving approx. £150 per month on fuel costs. Also, no longer wasting time travelling to petrol stations (no stations on commute).
