Jaguar I-PACE 2019 electric car owner review

Jaguar I-PACE 2019 electric car owner review

Russell drives a Jaguar I-PACE 90kWh 2019 electric car.

This is Russell’s first electric car, he’s owned the Jaguar I-PACE from new and drives 20,000-30,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 60,000-70,000 miles and he achieves 210 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?

Previously owned 5 Jaguars, I loved the look of the I-PACE and a capable range for all my needs.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • Lovely smooth responsive automatic driving
  • Use the adaptive cruise a lot on journeys and now love it
  • Finish, upholstery and tech are all splendid!

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Too hard, can’t think of any.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Really, no. DAB fell out a couple of times early on but no problem.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

What I would regard now as standard modern EV tech. Driver assist services good though I don’t much like nudges and turned a few things off. Tyre monitoring is good as is the sound system.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

No bad surprises, I love the internal space and quality finishes.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Nissan ARIYA on order. Loved the demo in the showroom. As a retired guy, it’s important to me now for a local dealer. Also, I’m slightly disenchanted with Jaguar, there’s been no real improvement in the car, indeed the spec is worse and prices are higher so I’m getting everything I want in a much better priced package.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your home charging unit

EO Mini Pro installed 2019. I wanted it in my garage so accordingly needed expensive civil work to bring the cable there. Nice to charge at night securely in the garage (and in the dry!). This year, the unit started to trip unexpectedly and it caught me out a few times. The installer replaced the unit under warranty but it still required a new circuit breaker unit as well. It’s fine now.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your electricity supplier & tariff

Power NI Economy 7 – suits me well, don’t see any better.

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Outline both positive & negative elements of your insurer

No particular insights as I haven’t made a claim. First insurer in 2019 who insisted on having a tracker installed.

Itemise how much money you’re saving each month owning & running an electric car
