Jaguar I-PACE 2020 electric car owner review

Jaguar I-PACE 2020 electric car owner review

Bill drives a Jaguar I-PACE 2020 electric car.

This is Bill’s first electric car, he’s owned the I-PACE under 1 year and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 240 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?

Looks great, especially on 22′ wheels, with a smart interior and enough technology to be modern without being overwhelming. Range is enough for me (I rarely need to public charge) and it’s quite fast. I am into cars and have generally bought performance-focused cars. This Jaguar is fast, near silent, very comfortable and incredibly cheap to run (although my last ICE car delivered 15 mpg so not hard to improve on really)!

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car.

  • Looks
  • Performance
  • Ease of use.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car.

I don’t really have any. I would prefer a charging point on both sides of the car as with some competitors, but other than that, all good.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

None so far.

What are the standout tech features of your I-PACE?

I guess the tech in this model is fairly standard across most electric cars but I do like the app on my phone which can control certain features of the car remotely. Pre-conditioning is useful, where you can set a departure time & it makes sure the car is ready for you.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this I-PACE.

The puddle light under the wing mirrors projects a Jaguar logo onto the floor at night. My son thinks this is cool, so it must be..!

What electric car are you interested in next and why?

Porsche Taycan – I have previously owned a 911 so do like the brand & the dealers/service are/is very good. I like the styling & interior of the Taycan too.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

Pod Point – it’s fine, does the job. It’s my first electric car so I cant compare it to any other chargers as this is my first one.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

I have only used a Pod Point public charger. I have the app on my phone, money in the account and it has worked easily so far.

List your top 3 favourite public charging networks (in order of preference).

N/A

Who do you insure your electric car with? Would you recommend them to others and why?

Churchill – I did a comparison search and they were the first brand I recognised on the list. The price to insure it is lower than my last car, so all good.
