shamut drives a BMW iX3 (pre-facelift & higher trim) 2021 electric car.

This is shamut’s second electric car, he’s owned the iX3 from new and drives between 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 220 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the BMW iX3?

We had a long list of requirements: 200 mile range at motorway speeds, easy entry (SUV), available for delivery by the end of 2021 (hard to find in November), beige or cream interior, nice for kids in the back (space amenities, windows & sunroof), good audio and sound insulation, decent power & handling, RWD or AWD, Apple CarPlay (a must), HUD, price to fit into my local incentive limit in Poland.

Positives 

• Silent yet sporty ride

• Overall user experience in the cabin.

Negatives

I had to go to the dealership to get a software update. They were supposed to come OTA. Will see in the future about that. Silver lining, I drove the iX and they cleaned the car inside and out, all for free.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Some issues connecting different accounts to key fobs. Otherwise, nothing in 4,000 miles.

What are the standout tech features of your BMW iX3?

Autosteer and safety kit – attentive when needed and not bothering at other times. Also found the HUD totally addictive.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this BMW iX3.

It has a digital key, you can just use your iPhone for that. The 8 assignable buttons have been in BMWs forever but they work here like a dream.

Not looking right now but the iX is really impressive!
