Why did you choose this car?
It’s incredibly tax efficient and there weren’t too many premium end options available in 2020 that could compete on the mileage from a full charge.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car.

  • I don’t have to go to the petrol station
  • it turns heads
  • its acceleration is amazing.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • I have to clean it
  • parking spaces can be tight as it’s quite large
  • public charging points can be quite expensive.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
None.

What are the standout tech features of the car?
Not sure anything really stands out as my previous car was also a Jaguar but I do like the fact that you can pre-heat/cool the cabin using a remote app.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this car.
It can go through up to 50cm of water with no problems at all.

What car are you interested in next and why?
Haven’t really thought about it, I have this one on lease for another two years yet.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
I have a Rolec at the office. It does what it’s supposed to do.

I don’t charge at home so this isn’t relevant.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
I’ve only used them a couple of times. Look out for the free ones at supermarkets but don’t expect to get much of a charge for free.

List your top 3 favourite public charging networks (in order of preference).
I don’t have any favourites.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Direct Line.

Rate your insurance provider out of 5.

Estimate how much money you save per month owning and running an EV compared to a petrol/diesel car.

I’m not sure I actually do save to be honest, I think over all, I break even. I charge the car at the office which means I no longer pay for fuel but I do low mileage and the old Jaguar XE had only cost me £50 – £60 per month in fuel. The lease cost is paid for by my business but is more expensive than on the XE. Also, the insurance is almost double what it was for the XE. I save significantly in tax but when you weigh up all the additional costs against the savings, because I only do low mileage, it’s pretty much break even.
