Why did you choose this car?
In the past we’ve owned 6 Clios but we got a Smart EQ fortwo for my wife and really enjoyed driving it and we decided I should change the Clio to a Zoe. The dealer made me an offer of an ex-demo and gave me more for my Clio than what I was after, so it was a done deal.
Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car.
- It’s a great specification
- nippy
- and most importantly I can get it charged for free.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.
- It’s not the fast charge
- it doesn’t have the automatic emergency braking (an option the dealer didn’t specify at the time)
- the wireless charger is useless for iPhones 12 and 13 due to their camera bump.

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
I’d heard of self-dipping rear view mirrors but the automatic dipping main beams are fantastic.
What car are you interested in next and why?
Possibly the Renault 5 EV if it’s very similar to the concept. I know this is the Zoe’s last year of production, possibly due to the Euro NCAP zero rating ( it’s still a safe car but 2010 safe not 2020 safe).
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
I haven’t fitted one yet.
