Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • shorter range

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
No problems with my car.

What are the standout tech features of the car?
The choice of manual or automatic regen levels make it easy to achieve top efficiency on a regular basis. In warm weather I regularly average around 5.2 to 5.8 miles per kWh. Motorway driving with variable cruise control makes longer journeys less stressful. This level of automation alongside lane assist, makes so much difference from my old ICE car.

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this car.
I can top up from empty in around 25 mins at an old rapid and even quicker at the newer rapids.

Rate your EV out of 5.

What car are you interested in next and why?
I have a Hyundai Kona on order with the extra range. This car should last me for at least the next 10 years which could then make it my final car.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
I have a Pod Point 7kW wall charger on the end of my house.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
At present I have a Bulb EV account. I am not sure if I use enough night time electricity to warrant the change. I am still monitoring if it is the best choice overall.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
My choice has changed over the last year, where I always tried to use Polar. I find that with Ecotricity changing to Gridserve, on motorway journeys I now use Gridserve far more. I love ChargePlace Scotland stations as up until the end of last year they gave free power.

List your top 3 favourite public charging networks (in order of preference).

  • Gridserve
  • Instavolt
  • bp pulse.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
I insure through my private pension provider with LV. I have been with LV for quite a few years now due to price.
