We chose this car because of its specification and improved range over the Z.E.40.
Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car?
- We love the increased range
- Upgraded specification
- Rapid charge facility.
Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car?
- We opted for the parking aid function, which we don’t like after trying to use it
- The phone charger only charges particular phones and we have to tap on the multiscreen to allow our phone to rest on the pad.
Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
The B shift makes a remarkable difference to our range.
What car are you interested in next and why?
We will probably only look at Renault Zoes in the future.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
We have both a 7kW Chargemaster unit and now a 2.3kW 13 amp charger to run off our new solar panels. The Chargemaster charger is fine; after initial problems with our first Zoe because the charger needed an over-the-air update. We have just started using our granny cable, which is currently taking a little extra power from the grid because of intermittent cloud and rain. It can charge the car with no grid import with reasonable sunshine. It is very slow, of course, but we bought the granny cable to soak up spare capacity from our solar panels, which works well.
What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
British Gas fixed rate – we had their EV tariff but found we were not using the car enough to benefit from it.
What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
So far we have not used any, other than at National Trust properties and Renault dealerships.
Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
LV – they are excellent and cover running out charge.
