Tell us about your home charging routine
I usually charge it to 80% (270 miles) overnight once the battery gets below 100 miles. I’m not doing many miles at the moment, so this is about once a week. The Ohme takes care of the scheduling. If I’m going on a long journey, I charge it to 100% by changing the target in the Ohme app.
Are you part of a charger-sharing scheme for those who don’t have their own charger?
No, but I’m thinking about it. Co Charger looks interesting…

Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff
I’m on Octopus Go, which is great for EV drivers. It’s only 5p/kWh between 00:30 – 04:30 and 16.67p/ kWh at other times. Standing charge is 25p/day. I can’t fault Octopus – they’ve been brilliant.
Are you planning on changing your charger and/or electricity supplier and if so to who and why?
Yes, I will be fitting Zaptec Go smart charger soon. This will be a neater arrangement than I have at present. I will be staying with my current tariff though.
Estimate how much money you save per month owning and running an EV compared to an ICE car
I don’t do many miles. I save a lot on servicing, insurance, maintenance and depreciation by getting an EV on a company scheme. My fuel bill is about £30/month less.
