Stuart drives a Tesla Model 3 Dual Motor 75kWh 2023.

This is Stuart’s third EV and he’s owned the Model 3 between 1-2 years. Stuart drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually and the current mileage of the car is between 15,000-20,000 miles. Stuart achieves on average 200 miles range from an 80% charge and got upgrades to trim & software.

Why did you choose this car?

It’s a Tesla, the most efficient electric car made. Also, its great fun to drive. My only criticism is that the suspension is too firm, although on the Highland that’s been sorted, apparently.

Positives 

It’s cheap to run and it’s great fun to drive (have I said that already?) So fast as well. The continued upgrades to the car’s software are brilliant. After owning this for over a year, I would not consider replacing it with anything but another Tesla.

Negatives

Only real criticism is the suspension is a bit firm, for my liking. Apparently, on the new model its been sorted. I have yet to drive one though, so can’t confirm that.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

I have only done 16,000 miles to-date, so it’s still settling.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

I have experience no faults.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

The software in this car is brilliant; the constant updates keep it fresh and interesting. The new AI Grok is superb!

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Model 3

After 18 months, I still enjoy getting in it and driving. None or very little maintenance is needed, which to my mind is a plus.

Just another Tesla.

Aviva – been with them for a few years now. Very competitive insurance, especially for an EV.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Tesla Model 3

Of course its saving me a fortune. I can charge it to 80% on a cheap overnight tariff for £5, which gets me 200 miles. Little to no maintenance, too. What’s not to love!
