Andrew drives a Peugeot E-2008 46.3kWh 2021, standard specification.
This is Andrew’s first EV and he’s owned the E-2008 less than a year. Andrew drives under 5,000 miles annually and the current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles. He achieves on average, 130 miles range from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose this car?
Having had a petrol Peugeot 3008 and my daughter a petrol 2008, I kind of knew what it was like. Also, having already tried a plug-in hybrid car, I felt fully electric was the way to go. The E-2008 is very comfortable and easy to drive.
Positives

Negatives
- Range – I feel any EV really needs in excess of 300 miles.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
I have not noticed any difference in the battery. The car is coming up to 5 years old, and I bought it from a registered car dealer and don’t expect issues.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
None so far, touch wood.
What are the standout technological features of the car?
All is as good as can be for the vehicle cost, we have physical buttons thankfully, as some tech can get the driver too involved with the touchscreen while driving.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
Would consider only long range EVs:
- Citroen e-C5 Aircross
- Renault Scenic E-Tech
- Ford Explorer.
The price also needs to be under the luxury car tax (£50k) and ideally include a heat pump for winter time. I also think every car should have a heated front windscreen, like Fords do, and a dash camera installed so you can’t get scammed by other drivers.
Home charging unit
Ohme – it’s great, as it knows when the EV charge rate is applicable. Also you have to authorise its plug-in, so no one can use it without you knowing or accepting. It also provides useful details about the estimated cost in £ pounds and the approximate charging time.

Compared to petrol prices, yes I am. Obviously, we await the extra road tax charges for EV cars, but should still be a big saving compared to traditional fuel costs.
