John V6 drives an MG ZS EV Trophy Connect Long Range 75kWh 2025.
This is John’s first electric car, he’s owned the ZS EV 1-2 years and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 250 miles range in the summer and 200 in the winter, from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose this car?
I bought it to join the EV revolution and have regretted it since I got a warranty issue at 11 months, that still isn’t fixed at 18 months!
Positives
Nothing, it stays at the dealer as they try to fix it.
Negatives
The car had a warranty issue at 11 months with the T box. Since then it has been at EMG MG Ipswich 6 times and the last time for 13 weeks. EMG do whatever MG UK or MG China ask, fitting new bits etc. Yesterday (4th June) I picked it up & today (5th June), the problem is back. MG UK reject my consumer rights to reject the car or replace it with a working car of equivalent spec, so I am stuck in limbo. I would never buy another MG.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
It sits at the dealer who can’t fix it of course, the battery is fine.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Yes, a warranty claim since Dec 2025 due to the T box failure that they can’t fix. It has been to EMG MG Ipswich 6 times and the last time for 13 weeks, after which it failed again the next day.
What are the standout technological features of the car?
None, as I don’t drive it as it’s stuck at the dealers with a warranty claim.
