Why did you choose this car?
I was originally looking at a Golf GTI/GTD and for the same price the ID.3 came up (maybe even slightly cheaper). I like new tech and challenges so went for the ID.3.
Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car.
- It’s different
- The silence as it pulls away is brilliant
- I guess it’s also doing its bit for the planet.
Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.
- Motorway mileage/range, it doesn’t seem to like traveling at 70mph
- Software limitations, VW should have definitely followed the Tesla route
- The lack of public charging infrastructure in Scotland (not a negative about the car!).

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
It’s cost me less than £200 to travel 10,000 miles without a home charger!
What car are you interested in next and why?
Tesla, having access to the Supercharging network is definitely worth the extra cost. If it opens up to the public, who knows maybe stick with VW or try one of the new EVs coming out.
What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
N/A, EST are dragging their heels about giving us the grant!!

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
We’re on Octopus Go Faster, waiting for our charger.

What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
CPS, saved me a lot of cash when most councils didn’t have a tariff. They’re a bit hit and miss. Instavolt, they just work!
Any network that will install more than the single unit in a location is a huge plus for me, would definitely pay the extra convenience of not having to wait.
Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Admiral I think…cheapest for us!
