Škoda Enyaq iV 60 2022: Road trip report – Bristol to Argyll and Bute

Scott C-W drove from Bristol to Argyll and Bute in his Škoda Enyaq iV 60kWh 2022

Introducing your road trip

A regular trip of approx. 400 miles from Bristol to the Rest and be Thankful area (A83) in Argyll & Bute for work. I have an IONITY subscription (discounted through Aviva insurance) so I charge exclusively on IONITY chargers. The total drive time was 8hrs 40minutes plus 1hr 10mins charging each way (traffic depending).

Planning & preparation

I always plan the route on A Better Routeplanner (ABRP), with it set to prioritise IONITY chargers. I then often have to tweak it to suit work requirements (stopping every 2 hours).

Charging

IONITY only and in order:

  • Stafford – good, can be busy but generally don’t have to wait long if at all
  • Carlisle – also good, generally not busy
  • Glasgow Polmadie – to ensure enough charge to cover the Rest and be Thankful and return

There are charging options in Arochar, but not IONITY. I do the same on the way back and I’ve never had any reliability issues. My IONITY Power annual subscription is at 40p/kWh.

Did you encounter any great driving roads on your road trip? If so, where were they and why were they great?

The A82/A83 are very pretty!

The Škoda Enyaq

I do this regularly in my Enyaq rather then the work van, as its far more comfortable. The massive boot is hugely practical and I have the Travel Assist Pack, which makes driving so much smoother and less tiring.

Road trip conclusion

Yep, great success!
