Nissan LEAF Tekna 2022 Owner Review

Nissan LEAF Tekna 2022 Owner Review

Elias Sacs drives a Nissan LEAF Tekna 62kWh 2022.

This is Elias’s second electric car, he’s owned the Nissan LEAF 2-3 years and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 180 miles from an 80% charge.

Why did you choose this car?

I had a previous LEAF with the standard battery and was really pleased with it. I chose this car because of the extra range & the improved electronics.

Positives

  • e-Pedal – it’s so easy to drive
  • it’s reliable
  • it’s comfortable.

Negatives

  • CHAdeMO can be a bit restrictive but since upgrading to the larger battery I haven’t needed to use rapid charges.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

It seems to be pretty consistent & hasn’t degraded at all.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Nissan LEAF

The whole experience of driving electric is a delight. Even after 7 years I still feel excited each time I get in my EV. I’ve never been really bothered about cars before but EVs are amazing!

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

  • That they’ll set on fire – truth is they’re at least 20 times less likely to
  • The battery will be useless pretty quickly – truth is they will probably outlast the car
  • They’re expensive to buy & run – truth is, they’re incredibly cheap to run & with solar they are free to run. With a bit of shopping around they are now more than affordable & are the best investment in private transport I have ever made and I’m 77.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Possibly the all-new Nissan Micra.

Home charging unit

myenergi zappi – great, especially with solar PV.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Intelligent Octopus Go

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Insurance

My insurance is basically the same as any car except they will provide support for when I run out of charge.
