SKODA ENYAQ 2022: Public charging review

SKODA ENYAQ 2022: Public charging review

Dave C shares his experience of public charging with his SKODA ENYAQ iV 60 65kWh.

What do you think of the UK public charging network in general?

Patchy, Motorway Services are fast but can be expensive. In towns & cities there are some fast charge terminals (7kW) particularly in supermarket car parks, otherwise if you charge via lamp post terminals they’re 3kW. The big issue is that in many London boroughs, the terminals are situated adjacent to resident parking bays, which are not designated for EVs only.

What and where are your favourite UK public chargers?

Source London and Osprey in SW London.

What’s been your best experience with a UK public charger?

On motorways & trunk roads, you can charge at 22, 43 or 50kW terminals and receive a full charge for the time it takes you for a loo & coffee break!

What’s been your worst experience with a UK public charger?

A service area on the A1 where the only working charger was for Tesla-only.

What’s got to change about public charging in the UK to get more people driving electric cars?

Installation of more fast chargers.
