This is Peter’s first electric car, he’s owned the Vauxhall Corsa Electric 1-2 years and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 135 miles from a full charge.

 

Why did you choose the Vauxhall Corsa Electric?

Cheaper to run and better for environment.

  • Good deal from Vauxhall via the Motability scheme
  • car looks good
  • plenty of goodies included because it’s top of the range
  • suited my needs.

 

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

  • Range issues – does not do anywhere need the range Vauxhall says (but none of them do according to the people I’ve spoken to).

 

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes

 

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

No

 

What are the standout technological features of the car?

  • Good sat nav & heated steering wheel
  • comfortable
  • good parking assist too.

Can set on fire.

 

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Mini – if range is better.

 

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

Ohme Home Pro – it’s not straight-forward if you live in an older property to get it fitted. That said, it works well now it’s in my garage.

 

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

British Gas car charging tariff – 20p per kW from 5am till midnight, 4. 71p per kW between 12am-5am.
