Peugeot 3008 Hybrid 2021: Public charging review

Greg Hallam shares his experience of public charging with his Peugeot 3008 Hybrid4 300 13.2kWh 2021.

What do you think of the UK public charging network in general?

I consider the public charging network to be very patchy and often I can’t park long enough (supermarkets etc.) to get a decent battery top-up.

What and where are your favourite UK public chargers?

I tend to use Pod Point mostly at Tesco stores and some Lidls as well.

What’s been your best experience with a UK public charger?

Bit of a daft question! How can you have a good experience charging your car?

What’s been your worst experience with a UK public charger?

In Worthing, on the seafront, I tried to use a new (at the time) Connected Kerb charging station…4 of them were out of order and had only been operational for a couple of days. Phoned them, they said they’d be repaired “immediately”, even gave me the engineers name. Told them I’d go back to Tesco Pod Point. Four days later they were still out of order.

What’s got to change about public charging in the UK to get more people driving electric cars?

More points and reduce the cost…no chance of the latter!
