Clive drives a MG4 EV Trophy 64kWh 2022.
This is Clive’s first electric car, he’s owned the MG4 from new and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 0-500 miles and he achieves 200 miles from a full charge.
Why did you choose the MG4 EV?
I chose the MG4 EV because of the price, the reviews I had read & watched online. I originally ordered an MG ZS EV in March of 2022 but this never materialised, so I opted for the MG4 EV instead. Fantastic car, great value for money and so far, reliable šš»

Yes. PDI was completed very well; maladjusted headlights & screen washer jets. Also the boot catch stopped working & you couldnāt access the boot, either via the boot catch or the key fob. What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
Renault Megane E-Tech – test drove this car with my daughter. Beautiful car, even in the base spec. Tesla Model 3, Y, S…aspire to own one, one day!
Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elementsĀ
I have a Wallbox Pulsar Plus, which I had installed shortly after ordering my MG ZS EV in March ā22. Excellent charger, which I have had no issues with whatsoever, however, in hindsight, I wish I had installed an Ohme Home Pro, so I could have utilised Octopus Energy’s Intelligent tariff (as my MG4 isnāt one of the cars recognised by Octopus). However, no big deal, I can still use the Octopus Go tariff.
Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elementsĀ
I am with Octopus Energy on their āGoā tariff, which provides me with 4 hours of cheap rate electricity, between 00:30am to 04:30am. So far, I have found Octopus excellent. Much better than my previous supplier.
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
I use Pod Point chargers out of convenience more than anything else in Tesco car parks. I also have a 50kW bp pulse charger nearby too but not used it yet as I always charge at home.
Insurer – outline both positive & negative elementsĀ
I use Admiral insurance & so far, so good šš»
