Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

Pod Point – works fine, app is good & easy to use. Don’t know if it will be clever enough in future with new tariffs though.

Octopus E7 – fine for EV charging and home energy use. Taken forever to get a smart meter but that’s because of where we live.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

IONITY and InstaVolt never let me down. ChargePlace Scotland becoming old and unreliable.

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements

Direct Line – price is reasonable but never had to claim so can’t comment.

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running an electric car

PCP is expensive but it’s an expensive car. Equivalent diesel would be less. No road tax at the moment, service is included. Electric costs about £100 a month. Diesel would be about £340.
