Jaguar I-PACE 2019 electric car owner review

Jaguar I-PACE 2019 electric car owner review

Aginghippies drive a Jaguar I-PACE 90kWh 2019 electric car.

This is Aginghippies’ first electric car, they’ve owned the Jaguar I-PACE under 1 year and drive 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-30,000 miles and they achieve 240 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?

  • We needed an estate car capacity
  • we are both ‘drivers’ and the I-PACE is definitely a driver’s car
  • we wanted a more traditional driver environment (no minimalist ergonomics for us!)
  • as I am retired & my wife is 8 months away from her retirement the slower charging is not a problem
  • the way the I-PACE looks was a major factor in the decision process.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Tempting fate here but faultless so far.

What are the standout technological features of your I-PACE?

The battery placement provides fabulous handling balance & the aerodynamics really do keep the rear screen clear without the need for a rear wiper!!

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car

Previous experience with petrol Jaguars tells me they can be expensive to run if driven enthusiastically, not so this I-PACE! 240 miles for £6 worth of electrons is a definite plus!

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements

myenergi zappi 2 – a brilliant charger that integrates very well with our solar/battery system. Unable to make full use of all its clever features until it becomes fully compatible with Intelligent Octopus.

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

Octopus Intelligent is a great tariff that has advantages beyond just EV charging.

Do you use public charging networks?

No

Insurer – please outline both positive & negative elements

Aviva – no complaints so far!

Please itemise (in detail) where you’re saving money owning & running an electric car

£6 to give us 240 miles compared to £47 in our old SAAB TTiD 9-3 sport wagon! It’s a no brainer!
