Simon Cutler drives a Jaguar I-PACE 90kWh 2021 electric car.
This is Simon’s first electric car, he’s owned the Jaguar I-PACE under 1 year and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 240 miles range from a full charge.
Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?
Looked at a few, choice was down to the Jaguar I-PACE or the Kia EV6. I took a test drive in both. The Jaguar I-PACE won on looks and drive, it’s exceptionally quick and a very smooth ride. It feels like and looks like a normal car, no space age feeling. Cost was more but worth the extra.

Outline both positive & negative elements of your home charging unit
Pod Point charger – they were out within 2 weeks to fit it, installed very well and just where we wanted it. The smart app has never worked so I have to use the car computer to set charging times.
Outline both positive & negative elements of your electricity supplier & tariff
Octopus Go – hard to evaluate in this strange time but definitely competitive.
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
Only used Gridserve – always worked & excellent coverage on UK motorways.
Outline both positive & negative elements of your insurer
Saga – won’t be using them once my year is up. They are not very knowledgeable with EVs and very expensive too.
