This is Zelliot’s first electric car, she’s owned the ID.4 for 1-2 years and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and she achieves 200 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose this electric car?
I like Volkswagen and wanted to try a larger SUV-style car. Also, I’m very keen to minimise my household’s carbon footprint and reduce air and noise pollution. Lower fuel costs were also a consideration.

- Love its quietness and smooth ride
- love its sleek looks
- love its ability to accelerate quickly and be able to manoeuvre out of problems quickly too.
Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car
Lane assist is very off putting and dangerous, I have to switch it off at every drive. There are so many functions, it’s difficult to rationalise them all in being able to utilise it to its best. If there’s a software glitch it can affect the display which is off putting.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Just occasional software glitches which have corrected themselves in time.
What are the standout tech features of the car?
- Full beam lowers on approaching car
- slows down automatically as speed indicator signs show.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
So Energy Flex tariff – wouldn’t recommend, unable to change tariff or supplier at the moment due to energy issues. Had a smart meter fixed, never worked, no replies from multiple e-mails. Not helpful.
