This is David’s first electric car, he’s owned the EQC from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 500-1,000 miles and he achieves 180 miles range from a full charge.

Why did you choose this electric car?

Driven Mercedes for the last 20 years.

 

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this electric car

  • Technology within the car
  • the look of the car
  • ability to use green energy.

 

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car

The fact that after 8 weeks of ownership it was off the road for 8 weeks waiting for a new battery.

 

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Needing a new battery and the dash going blank every now and then.

 

What are the standout tech features of the car?

The technology, as mentioned earlier, can make the driving experience extremely rewarding in respect of anticipating road configuration and traffic conditions then using regen settings to travel from A to B hardly using the brakes.

I’ve only had this one 3 months.

 

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

zappi – I would recommend it though it is very early days.

I am trying to change my supplier. I live in the country and my present supplier will only provide me with a special EV rate if I take both electricity and gas from them. I am miles from any gas supply…how idiotic!

ChargePlace Scotland are good but I have limited experience as my car has been off the road for so long.

NFU – I have used them for years and appreciate their service.
