Pod Point – yes, they were great from the initial survey through to the finished job.

Why did you purchase this particular unit?

This unit is included with the purchase of the Jaguar I-PACE. However, I’d have chosen this unit even if I had to buy one anyway. I like how it looks and the way in which it works along with the app which is very good .

List 3 or more points that you don’t like about the charging unit.

Outline any faults you have experienced with the unit.

Only one, it displayed a red light and didn’t start to charge. I just reset and it was fine again.

Tell us about your home charging routine.

I use it daily. It’s plugged in when the car returns from its 42 mile round trip from work. It’s set to charge from 00:00 to 5:00am, however, it doesn’t need that long and just works itself out. The car does a minimum of 210 miles a week when it’s just going to work. It’s also used in the evenings from time to time, then every other weekend when it does a further 200 miles minimum.

If you were buying a new charging unit now, what would you buy and why?

I’m happy with the Solo 3 so it would be another of those.

Tell us about your electricity provider and tariff. Would you recommend them?

I’m currently with British Gas. We fixed a while ago on their 20p tariff. This is until September, so although we don’t get the cheaper 5 hours overnight, overall, it’s still a lot cheaper than some are paying with the increase in the price cap. When it ends I shall look for the best EV tariff at the time, if there are any deals to be had.
