Connected Kerb launches new game-changing public charging point across UK

Connected Kerb, one the of the UK’s leading providers of electric vehicle charging infrastructure solutions, has today launched a revolutionary new charging point for EV users without driveways.

The Chameleon is a new bollard-style charging point from Connected Kerb, designed and manufactured right here in the UK. It is one of the lowest impact and smallest dual charger solutions for public on-street charging in the market, packed with the Connected Kerb technical capabilities our users have come to expect and appreciate from our system.

Made predominantly from recycled steel, the Chameleon is a perfect blend of visual ‘kerb’ appeal, smart technology and sustainable excellence and standing at under one metre tall, is accessible for wheelchair users and not subject to planning permission.

It supports future technologies such as 5G, IoT and air quality sensors and follows the modular design of all Connected Kerb charging points with enabling infrastructure that contains key components sitting underground. This can be installed before EV demand rises, reducing unused infrastructure and the need for further ground excavation for maintenance.

Chris Pateman-Jones, CEO of Connected Kerb, said: “We’re committed to facilitating the widespread transition to electric vehicles for users who cannot charge their vehicle at home. Our latest charger design – the Chameleon –  is a real game-changer in the EV infrastructure market. To pack so much technology into a small post with a dual socket is no mean feat and the solution is a credit to the product & innovation of the Connected Kerb team.”
