Planning & preparation
I used Zap-Map to check out chargers on the way. Took my 3 pin plug charger to plug in overnight at grandson’s.
Charging
Travelled 200 miles to Oxford, didn’t bother to charge on the way as didn’t need to, arrived with 30 miles still available. Fully charged overnight by plugging in to grandson’s normal plug socket and had 100% charge next morning. Drove back and didn’t stop to charge as didn’t need to, still had 28 miles available.
The EV itself
Extremely comfortable car for 4 large adults that were travelling. Bags of room in rear seats and boot is huge. Sat nav showed all charging points along the way but they weren’t needed. Travelled the majority of the way at 70 miles per hour.
Road trip conclusion
Very successful, loved the trip and am doing it again this summer as well as a trip to the Lakes in May. No issues with my EV and would never go back to petrol. The trip to Oxford cost £15 as opposed to £73 in my BMW that I had before the ENYAQ.
