Why did you choose this car?
I test drove several EVs and this was far and away the best.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car?

  • Range
  • Performance
  • Practicality
  • Audio system
  • Ride
  • Roadholding and handling
  • Ease of use.

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car?

  • ‘Frunk’ doesn’t have powered open/close like the boot does
  • The fake wood ‘dashboard’ would be better if it were the same material and colour as the Alcantara door cards
  • Rear view camera gets dirty very easily and has no wash/wipe.

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
It’s perfectly possible to drive it without actually using all the performance all of the time.

What EV are you interested in next and why?
Tesla Model Y. We have a grandchild and possibly more to come so the extra space would be very useful.

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
EO Mini Pro 2 – yes I’d recommend it. It’s very small and discrete and aware of all EV tariffs such as Octopus GO so it will automatically charge the car off-peak. The Tesla itself is unable to do this.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Octopus GO – I would definitely recommend this and it’s very cheap off-peak (5p/kWh for four hours) and Octopus don’t care what you use the off-peak rate for. There’s also GO Faster which allows you to trade cost against length of off-peak window.

What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Tesla Superchargers but only because I got 12 months free. I’d still use them, though less often when not free because there are no other widely available 250kW chargers.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
LV – I’d recommend them because they offer EV-specific policies and were very reasonable cost.
