This is Alan’s first electric car, he’s owned the Nissan LEAF 2-3 years and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 100 miles from a full charge.
Why did you choose the Nissan LEAF?
Low cost electricity and promised low maintenance.
Positives
- Heated seats
- heated steering wheel
- no gear change
- one pedal driving
- no more smelly diesel or petrol or greasy garage forecourts.
Negatives
- Restricted mileage
- depreciation.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Yes on both accounts, but in winter when you turn on the heating and demister it drops like a stone.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Touch wood, so far no problem, apart from the suspension struts at the front of the car collect water so you have to purchase covers for them.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
None, as I am 77 now and don’t intend to purchase another car but I would love any Tesla model!
