JTO drives an MG ZS EV 49kWh 2024, standard specification.
This is JTO’s first electric car, he’s owned the MG ZS EV 1-2 years and drives under 5,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and he achieves 170 miles from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the MG ZS EV?
Got a good deal on this car as it was coming to the end of the run.
Positives
- Nice to drive
- easy to charge.
Negatives
Mists up more than cars I’ve had in the past.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
The range I’m getting in winter is around 150 miles and in summer over 200 miles. Charging at home I charge at the normal rate; if you’re on a road trip that depends on the charger and how many people are using the chargers around you. In winter it will charge at approx. 50kWh, summer approx. 60kWh and I’ve never seen it higher than this. One thing I’ve noticed is after a road trip it seems to take a few charges to get it back to the normal range.
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
No faults
What are the standout technological features of the car?
None that stand out just the normal features you get on other EV cars.
Electricity supplier & tariff
Intelligent Octopus Go
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
Tesla Supercharger Network
Insurance
Admiral – they seem to have an insurance policy that covers EV without battery charging at the roadside to get you going again.
