Kia EV3 GT-Line S 2025 Owner Review

Kia EV3 GT-Line S 2025 Owner Review

Ian drives a KIA EV3 GT-Line S Long Range 78kWh 2025.

This is Ian’s third electric car, he’s owned the EV3 less than a year and drives 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 250 miles range from an 80% charge.

On top of the standard specification, Ian added a heat pump.

Why did you choose the Kia EV3?

Liked the combination of range, handling & ride, and interior space. I wanted one car to do big miles, go to the shops, and carry people and things!

Positives

  • Rides well
  • good spec
  • good auto drive features.

Negatives

  • Software can be a bit laggy at times.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes, never had noticeable degradation in any of my three electric cars. It’s a myth!

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

No faults

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Automatic cruise/steer is very smooth and makes motorways very easy, much better than my previous Tesla!

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Kia EV3

Being able to work in the car with the air conditioning on for a long time without running an engine.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

The whole range anxiety thing is ridiculous. Never had a problem charging in 5 years of having electric cars.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Kia EV2 and new VW GTI model look good.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Octopus Go – has cheap night time rates

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

Tesla and InstaVolt because they just work. Some of the chargers in Cornwall installed by small providers have been a bit hit and miss.

Insurance

LV= are my current insurer. I had used Direct Line but they seemed less competitive on my electric car.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Kia EV3

‘Fuel’ much cheaper. On newer electric cars there is very little regular maintenance.
