BMW Survey 2024: Brand values & the future - latest findings

We reveal the latest findings from our BMW Survey.

These initial findings are based on submissions from 12th December 2023 to 13th June 2024.

The survey was communicated to Electric Road’s database and social media audiences. The total submission base, at the time of compiling, was 1,755 achieving a 63.4% completion rate. We will continue to promote this survey and will publish findings on an ongoing basis.

All of our brand surveys are open to all drivers (of all ages of car & fuel types) be they a current owner, a previous owner, a prospective one or they simply have a view on that particular brand. We wanted to understand where drivers are in relation to certain car brands from what they have driven, are currently driving, what they’re considering and ultimately, what the brand means to them. This feature focuses on questions to all respondents looking at what BMW means to drivers and their thoughts on fuels of the future.

What does the BMW brand mean to you? (multiple responses per user)

Stylish & high performance are certainly not surprising when it comes to BMW but is reliability more of a surprise?

What information do you believe to be true about fully electric cars? (multiple responses per user)

We’ll let the graph do the the talking for this question.

What factors influence your preference for a particular fuel type? (multiple responses per user)

No surprises that the cost of purchase and owning a car are the main factors when considering your next vehicle’s fuel type. Clearly, performance is important for a lot of BMW owners, past, present & future.

What fuel type will be the predominant choice for UK drivers in 2050?

Hydrogen is believed to be the predominant fuel choice in 2050 regardless of the current state of the UK infrastructure. 2050 is the date the UK Government want to cut greenhouse gas emissions to almost zero.
