Gsxrjones drives a Jaguar I-PACE HSE 84.7kWh 2020
This is Gsxr’s second electric car, they’ve owned the I-PACE less than 1 year and drive between 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-25,000 miles and they achieve 180 miles on average, from an 80% charge.
Why did you choose the Jaguar I-PACE?
There isn’t another EV even close to the same spec for the money. It’s like looking at an Oled TV, you never want to go back, so once you test drive the I-PACE, nothing else makes you feel the same way.
Positives
- HUD
- 360 camera
- the seats
- the acceleration
- the regen is perfect
- Pivi Pro
- and we have a big solar array and a very big battery storage system, so we get to drive this amazing car for free!
Negatives
Haven’t found anything yet.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Excellent, it’s at 96.5% State of Health (SoH).
Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?
Nothing as yet.
What are the standout technological features of the car?
HUD and 18-way adjustable seats with memory.
Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Jaguar I-PACE
All the other EVs we test drove seemed to be built to look the part, but the Jag is built to be the part hard to explain until you drive one.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
A younger I-PACE.
Home charging unit
Fox ESS – We have a Fox solar inverter and battery too, so all plays well together.
Electricity supplier & tariff
E.ON – we pay 22p per kWh, but we haven’t imported anything for almost a year.
What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?
We use Shell chargers with the Shell App just because it’s easy and we have a card. We’ve only used it a few times, probably not even 100kWh, in total.
Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Jaguar I-PACE
We were paying around £200 a month on diesel, then went to hybrid and that dropped to £75, and now the average fuel bill is £0 a month!
