Škoda Elroq Edition 85 2025 Owner Review

Škoda Elroq Edition 85 2025 Owner Review

Andy Smith drives a Škoda Elroq 85 Edition 77kWh 2025.

This is Andy’s first electric car, he’s owned the Škoda Elroq less than a year and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-15,000 miles and he achieves 300 miles on an 80% charge.

Why did you choose the Škoda Elroq?

I wanted an EV and I like VAG cars!

Positives

Performance, range & refinement.

Negatives

Air conditioning failed three weeks ago. My nearest Škoda dealer said they are not equipped to diagnose my car and referred me elsewhere. After a wait for an appointment and two hours waiting at this dealership, they informed me that they’re also not equipped! Having to wait until 18th September at yet another dealership. Not good in 35c temperatures. No urgency or ownership from Skoda UK. For a car less than 2 years old this is NOT. GOOD. ENOUGH.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Too early to tell.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Air conditioning – see earlier comment.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Performance, range, refinement & infotainment.

Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about your Škoda Elroq

I like the regenerative braking, some owners do not.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

The new smaller Skoda EV (Epiq) or maybe a Renault 5.

Home charging unit

Hypervolt Home 3 Pro – works OK but I don’t use any of the smart features because they can clash with Intelligent Octopus Go.

Electricity supplier & tariff

Intelligent Octopus Go – 3.5p/kWh overnight is brilliant. Car charging was a bit hit or miss until I figured out a pattern of usage that works for me.

Insurance

Cornmarket – had to insure in a hurry because existing insurer would not cover the Elroq. Will do more research at renewal.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running a Škoda Elroq

At 1p/mile in electricity I’d say so! Too early to assess servicing costs, though.
