Vauxhall Corsa-e 2023 electric car owner review

Peter drives a Vauxhall Corsa-e Elite Nav 50kWh 2023.

This is Peter’s first electric car, he’s owned the Vauxhall Corsa-e from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 20,000-30,000 miles and he achieves 140 miles from a full charge.

Why did you choose the Vauxhall Corsa-e?

My lifestyle, it’s better for the environment and cheaper to run, especially when home charging.

Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?

Yes

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Electric hand brake issue, couple of software issues and a recall notice from Vauxhall. All sorted in a timely & friendly manner at Perrys Vauxhall, Doncaster.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

My Corsa is top of range so it has plenty of extras like an excellent sat nav which is clear to see and understand. Also, the reversing camera is very good.

What’s the biggest or funniest myth you’ve heard about EVs?

Battery life and range.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

Unsure at the minute, will start looking around September; 95% certain it will be electric again.

Home charging unit

It’s a bit more involved having one fitted if you live in a older property; mine’s in my garage at the bottom of my garden.

Electricity supplier & tariff

British Gas electric tariff – 4.75 per/kWh Midnight till 5 am, works well for me just a bit more expensive out of those hours. (Prices may change since this review was published in May-25).

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

They’re all on a par, I like tap n’ pay the best. I am registered with a few providers but it can be annoying and time-wasting if you have to register on the go.
