‘MG ZS Trophy’ drives an MG ZS EV Long Range 2023.
This is MGZST’s second electric car, they’ve owned the MG ZS EV from new and drive 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and they achieve 235 miles from a full charge.
Why did you choose the MG ZS EV?
- Good value
- high specification
- very cheap to run when charged on cheap overnight rate electricity.
Positives
- Very cheap to run
good equipment levels
easy to drive.
Negatives
- Residual value (so always lease rather than buy)
- minor issues with quality of finish
- heating controls don’t always respond.
Compared to when you first bought the car, does your battery still charge at the same rate & do you still get the same range?
Yes battery charges at the same rate. I get far more range in summer (265 miles on a full charge) than winter (215 on a full charge).

No faults

That they combust at will.
What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?
Probably another MG ZS EV if the deal is right. New model in the pipeline, I believe.

Please itemise where you’re saving money (or not) owning & running an MG ZS EV
Would rather not say other than a 5hr overnight charge gives me roughly 130 miles of charge and costs about £6 (excluding standing charges). £6 of diesel or petrol wouldn’t give me anywhere near that, whatever mpg.
