Škoda ENYAQ 2022 electric car owner review

KernowKENSA drives a Škoda ENYAQ iV 60 Loft 2022.

This is Kernows’s second electric car, they’ve owned the Škoda ENYAQ from new and drive 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 5,000-10,000 miles and they achieves 200 miles from a full charge.

 

Why did you choose the Škoda ENYAQ?

Value for money initially but now I have come to appreciate the overall competence of the car. Very comfortable, spacious and a practical design have made me really appreciate this versus my previous Mercedes GLC diesel.

What are the standout technological features of the car?

Adaptive cruise control, comfortable suspension & a  big screen.

What electric car(s) are you interested in next and why?

KIA EV6 due to 800V architecture

 

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements 

Simple Chargemaster dumb unit – relies on car timer to match charging with off-peak electric supply period.

 

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements

Octopus Go Faster is superb – 7.5p per unit for 4 hours from 21:30. They really seem to try to be helpful and respond quickly to queries.

 

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

IONITY, Osprey and InstaVolt appear to be the most reliable.

Cornmarket provide good pricing for Advanced Motorists and easy contact on the phone with real people.

 

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running a Škoda ENYAQ

Fuel cost – home charging is 1/10th the cost of diesel & servicing is much cheaper and only every 2 years.
