Danny Keirs drives a Nissan LEAF N-Connecta 59kWh 2022.
Danny has owned more than 5 electric cars, he’s owned the Nissan LEAF from new and drives between 10,000-15,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 0-500 miles and he achieves 180 miles from a full charge.
Why did you choose the Nissan LEAF?
Had 3 LEAFs before: 24, 40 & 62kWh. Changed to MG5 EV & then MG ZS EV & then MG4 EV. Couldn’t live with the MG4 EV due to niggles like having to go into infotainment every time you start the car to set up driving preferences etc.

Please itemise where you’re saving money owning & running an electric car
- I have been running my car for 2p per mile, my diesel car was 13p per mile. 300 mile per week = £6 on electric or £30 in diesel so a £1,300 per year saving on fuel alone.
- servicing is half the price
- insurance basically the same
- zero road tax at the moment.
