YtoN drove from York to Normandy, France in his Volkswagen ID.4 72kW 2021 electric car.

York to south west of Rouen, via Newhaven-Dieppe ferry in VW ID.4 1st Edition 72kw. Family holiday for a week.

 

Planning & preparation 

Used Zap-Map for UK and Chargemap for France.

Charging 

Used InstaVolt near Harlow and then charged to 100% at InstaVolt at Bannatyne’s in Eastbourne. Used local charger in Honfleur and IONITY on Autoroute close to Rouen. Return trip used Gridserve at M25 services and InstaVolt on A1 at Starbucks just south of Worksop.

 

The Volkswagen ID.4

Car was great, comfortable and coped with very high temperatures +30°c most of week.

 

Road trip conclusion 

Would do it again without any hesitation!
