Kia Niro PHEV 2020 owner review

Jerry drives a Kia Niro PHEV 2020 electric car.

This is Jerry’s first electric car, he’s owned the Kia Niro PHEV for 1-2 years and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 10,000-20,000 miles and he achieves 28 miles range from a full charge.

 

Why did you choose the Kia Niro PHEV?

Previous experience of Kia ICE and HEV, good customer service from dealership and 7 year/100k mile warranty.

Kia Niro EV4 (expected delivery in December 2022)

 

Home charging unit – outline both positive & negative elements 

I have a zappi charger that is integrated into my 3kW solar panel/5kW solar battery such that it only charges when my solar panels are generating excess power after my home solar battery has been fully charged. Easy to monitor via the zappi app.

 

Electricity supplier & tariff – outline both positive & negative elements 

I am currently with E.ON Next Issue 14 fixed Tariff. Nothing special about it but I’m waiting for their EV Tariff to be reintroduced.

 

Do you use public charging networks?

No

 

Insurer – outline both positive & negative elements 

I have recently switched to Admiral from Saga so unable to comment at this time. Admiral seem to be helpful and have good customer service.
