Cameron Horne drove from Dennyloanhead to Oban in his Volkswagen ID.4 electric car.
Introducing your road trip
Went from Dennyloanhead to Oban, a distance of 98 miles. Stopped at Stirling Castle charging up to 100% (320 miles) & just did local diving around Oban. I charged at local Tesco (22kWh) for 90 minutes for free. They also had a a 50kWh charger but haD to pay to use. When I got home there was still 143 miles available.
Planning & preparation
Charged the car up to 90% the day before travelling. Having done the journey before I knew what preparation I had to do.
Charging
The day before I travelled, I used a free of charge 50kW and again free of charge 50kW at Stirling Castle at the start of the journey.

Did you encounter any great driving roads on your road trip? If so, where were they and why were they great?
Found the roads generally in good condition but some stretches were narrow and challenging when facing oncoming HGVs.
The Volkswagen ID.4
Flawless. Driving along with the radio off it was so quiet. Definitely put a smile on my face.
Road trip conclusion
This was my 2nd attempt at the journey. Being better prepared made it all the more pleasurable.
