Public charging review: MG5 EV 2022, Geo68

Geo68 runs a MG5 EV 2022 electric car and shares their experiences to-date on public charging.

What do you think of the UK public charging network in general?

It works for me as I can’t have a home charger as I live in a flat with no private parking. With this in mind, I have to make public charging work and so far, no problems. As I’m retired it makes it a bit easier to get a free bay, avoiding the peak-times when chargers are used.

What and where are your favourite UK public chargers?

I use ChargePlace Scotland in Cumbernauld where I live and have a few to chose from around me. Quick check of the app to see what’s available and off I go.

What’s been your best experience in your MG5 EV with a UK public charger?

They have all worked.

What’s been your worst experience with a UK public charger?

No bad experiences.

What’s got to change about public charging in the UK to get more people driving electric cars?

More charge points need to be made available, especially the further north you go in Scotland. Seems to be a lack of them.
