This is Steve’s second electric car, he’s owned the Taycan from new and drives 5,000-10,000 miles annually. The current mileage of the car is between 1,000-5,000 miles and he achieves 240 miles range from a full charge.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

Panoramic roof cracked, screens in German, phone charger, sound emitter & app connectivity.

 

What are the standout tech features of the car?

Air suspension can adjust ride and chassis setup from comfortable Grand Tourer to edgy sports car with the twist of a dial. Gear on rear motor is good.

 

Surprise us! Tell us something people wouldn’t readily know about this electric car.

It’s a big car but the optional rear wheel steering means that it feels much smaller both at low and high speeds.

What electric car are you interested in next and why?

Lotus Evija – performance, brand and versatility. Long range too.

 

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

Elvi by EVBox – would not recommend it due to the terminals melting, poor customer service & a  dreadful app.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

E.ON – I was automatically switched due to previous supplier’s insolvency. I would not recommend E.ON and I’m looking to change.

What public charging networks would you recommend to others and why?

  • IONITY due to speed and reliability on major roads
  • Osprey due to location in semi urban areas
  • Supercharger because they are fast and bulletproof.
