It’s his first electric car and Robin does between 10,000 – 15,000 miles a year. This car has covered under 1,000 miles to-date and achieves 280 miles range when fully charged.

Why did you choose the Tesla Model Y?

We choose the Tesla Model Y because of Tesla’s heritage in EVs, their minimalist design and their supercharging network. Coupled with those reasons the Tesla Model Y ticks all the boxes we need in terms of luggage space and comfort for our family when travelling.

  • Minimalistic interior design
  • Sufficient range
  • Regular software updates.

 

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this electric car.

  • Tesla delivery experience (poor paintwork)
  • Navigation software is poor compared to Waze
  • Lack of Apple CarPlay.

Have you experienced any faults with the car? If so, what have they been?

One hub cap was not fitted properly. Paintwork had swirl marks where poor.

 

What are the standout tech features of your Tesla Model Y?

  • Brilliant sound system
  • Great software (apart from navigation)
  • Fab toys/games.

Any other Tesla to be honest, might get a Model 3.

Ohme Home Pro – it’s pretty good, doesn’t yet support solar but we don’t have that here yet.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?

Shell – wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. It’s because I can’t change right now because of price caps.

No experience as yet except Tesla Supercharger network.
