Why did you choose this car?
Tesla always offered the most range when I was researching various EVs before I purchased.

Positives – List 3 or more reasons why you love this car.

  • Immense torque – the power is instant
  • Running cost – on a good home electric tariff it equates to 1p/mile
  • Infotainment offers many fun things to do whilst charging!

Negatives – List 3 or more things that you really don’t like about this car.

  • App is a little lacklustre
  • Collection can be quite far away
  • Range is hindered by cold weather.

Surprise us! Tell us something surprising about this car?
With Enhanced Autopilot (EAP) specified and ‘Navigate on Autopilot’ running, the vehicle can take you onto, along and to the exit ramp of a motorway. EAP also offers ‘Summon’ which allows you to move the car via an app when standing next to it (great if someone parks next to you like an idiot). Finally, EAP offers ‘Autopark’ which is based off of cameras rather than sensors so it can park based on lines rather than cars around you meaning you don’t have to park between 2 cars to use it. Oh, and how could I forget that Teslas now have Sonic the Hedgehog to play whilst charging!

What car are you interested in next and why?
Kia EV6 for size and affordability and the fact you can run any electrical appliance from the charge port with the relevant adapter. Tesla Model X (if money was no object) as it offers 6 or 7 seat configurations as well as automatic doors amongst other perks

What home charging unit do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Hypervolt Home v2.0 – 100% recommend this charge unit. Great build quality, good functionality in the app and unrivalled customer service. It also has fun little light shows and Alexa integration available.

What home electricity supplier & tariff do you use? Would you recommend it to others and why?
Octopus Go – In the form that it was when I signed up I would have recommended it (16p/kW peak and 5p/kW off peak 00:30 to 4:30) but with the volatile energy market the offering isn’t so great anymore so best to shop around.

What public charging networks do you use? Would you recommend them to others and why?
Tesla Superchargers – great speeds and when using the navigation in the car it automatically adds waypoints for the chargers. Never had an issue using them and can not compare to others as I have only really used these.

Who do you insure your EV with? Would you recommend them to others and why?
PSA – There is a lot of speculation that PSA should only be insuring Peugeots but I have never had this issue. They have great pricing but unless I have an accident I couldn’t comment on how great they are at claims handling. For what it is worth they are underwritten by UK Insurance.
