What were your first impressions of the car?
As I approached the car I couldn’t but admire the style. The side profile has more than a hint of the I-PACE I currently drive and it’s cab forward haunches certainly catch the eye. I was not so happy about the boot design from pictures but in life it actually works and began to grow on me. The sweeping brake light come spoiler is definitely a statement piece. The boot itself is spacious if a little shallow due to the raking roofline. It was easy to fit a double child’s buggy in.

The rear is really spacious with ample legroom even with the seat in the position I usually sit with my height of six foot. The driver seat was comfortable and easy to adjust and I loved the cockpit layout with the two large screens. I felt the binnacle screen layout could have done with being able to be configured more. Head room is probably going to be an issue for some especially in this model with the sunroof taking out some extra head space.

Positives – List 3 or more things you liked about the car.

  • Love the style of this car
  • the amount of safety tech included
  • the competence of its driving assist features
  • the great driving experience.

Negatives – List 3 or more things you didn’t like about the car.

  • Lack of boot height may make it difficult to transport some items
  • Lack of head height may make it uncomfortable for some drivers
  • RWD model lacked the urgency of my I-PACE.

Did you purchase the make & model you test drove or another EV from the same manufacturer?
No.

What other EV(s) are you considering and what attracts you to them?

  • I-PACE – familiarity and it is an amazing car
  • Volvo XC40 – wolf in sheep’s clothing, it is a Polestar under the skin of a family SUV.
